This movie is about how a man grows from his past relationship mistakes and how it shaped him later in life.

2.How is it different from common fiction?
It is different from common fiction because the way the movie is played out.Instead of starting from point A and ending on point Z,the movie takes us back to the main character,Rob Gordon's past relationship with a few twist and turns along the way.The witty dialog in the movie and the enormous amount of trivia about music from the movie,single it out from all the run of the mill romantic comedy movie.

Furthermore,the storyline is different than most romantic comedy movies. Rob,is not your typical hero.He is not charming,he is not good looking,he is not well dressed..he is the opposite of the typical hero in a romantic comedy.Rob is a deeply flawed character who fall from grace many times due to his failed relationships and it made him become this incredibly insecure and moody person and dripping with sarcasm.

3.Who's your favorite character and why?

Rob Gordon is a deeply flawed man but really,who can blame him?His past haunts him and through all of his failed relationship,he becomes the way he is and we see that at the start of the movie...he is a very angry and moody guy who looks like he has never seen a sunshiny day.

The thing that I like about Rob was that despite he fall from his grace because of his past relationships, many times,he never stop from finding the one girl who will eventually make him happy.And although he did made a huge mistake in sleeping with someone else during his relationship with Laura,he tries to make up for it and we can see that he really loves her when he stand in the rain and called her from the payphone.

4.Provide an alternate ending
Instead of Rob and Laura ended up together in the end...Laura stayed with that Ian guy and Rob still become his miserable self and never have the chance of experiencing happiness.
